My collection contains Berber rugs and textiles from Taznakhte and its surroundings in the Anti Atlas, in the very south of Morocco (Ouarzazate province).
This region is the center of traditional handwoven rugs, with influence of the diverse inhabitants; berbers, jewish and ‘black’ berbers tribes. The old pieces are handmade, with typical wool, plant-dyed and per village/tribe with their own style and patterns. In this region, the women where responsible for the main family income by their weaving.
